The thought of paying for a new boiler might seem off-putting at first, but replacing your old boiler comes with heaps of benefits for you and your home. We’ve listed the top 4 benefits to persuade you to get a new boiler installed by our helpful gas engineers.
More efficient boiler
Your boiler is responsible for the majority of your
household energy bills (60% according to The Energy Saving Trust), so upgrading
to an efficient boiler can really make a difference.
All new boilers use condensing technology, of which most are at least 90%
efficient (rated as A Grade). 90% may not seem excellent, as
10% is still wasted, but compare that to a few years ago when boilers were G-rated (less than 70% efficient) and you'll soon see a huge difference. To add some context to this, you are now only wasting a
maximum of 10p for every £1 spent, rather than at least 30p for every £1 spent. This may not seem like a
sizeable difference but, as the pounds start adding up, so do the savings.
Greater heating control
The majority of new boilers are compatible with smart
thermostats and/or are available with separate thermostats for each room.
Having greater control over your home’s heating gives you more
control over where your money is spent. For example, if you have a spare room, you can switch the heating off until it is needed, helping you save money
without noticing a change in temperature in the rest of the home.
In addition to this, greater heating control adds a cosier, homely touch as each
individual in the house can have their space heated to a temperature that's perfect for them, especially useful in the cold winter months.
More discrete boiler operation
Thanks to advancements in technology, new boilers are significantly quieter than older models. This is a benefit for everyone, but especially those with boilers on the other side of their bedroom wall - getting woken up by rattling sounds will soon be a thing of the past!
More practical boiler size
Again, due to advancements in technology, boilers are now more compact compared to what they used to be. This provides more options for where they can be positioned and a lot of modern boilers are now situated in the kitchen and wall-mounted in a cupboard. This leaves you with more valuable space in your home, while still keeping your boiler out of sight and out of mind.
